YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

  • I’m pregnant, so is it safe to use? And can it be used around babies?
Yes of course, The Salin Plus is totally safe to use whether you’re pregnant or if you have young children. In fact, salt therapy should bring benefits to the whole household by cleaner air and better breathing for your whole family.
  • What if there’s another person in the room or I have visitors?
No problem either. The Salin Plus only emits a small amount of natural rock salt (about .1mg) every 24 hours which is well below the recommended daily usage (of up to 2.3 mg). It’s totally 100% natural with no additives and safe to use in the presence of others. Just leave it plugged in.
  • So, there’s no health issues?
No, in fact the opposite. Do see our section on ‘How it works’ too but The Salin Plus will improve breathing and especially for those with breathing difficulties. Salt Therapy is an old, proven treatment to reduce any breathing difficulties. But, if you ever have any concerns, always recommended to see your GP.
  • What if I can’t take salt in my diet?
That’s okay because the amount of 100% natural rock salt is so low, you’ll inhale far less than the recommended daily intake. Only about .1mg every 24 hours so it has no effect on low salt diets. But it will bring benefits to your breathing!
  • I seem to have more mucus now than before when I used the device?
Which is exactly as we hope! Clearing mucus is part of the process to help clear your airways and improve your breathing. By having more mucus you’re actually seeing the benefits!
  • Can I use ordinary salt in the device?
No, we don’t recommend this because the filter contains 100% natural rock salt and with no additives. Because it’s totally natural it works best. What you should do is change the filter after 4 months when it will deplete (you can order here online) and after 6 months, your filter will be ineffective.
  • Where should I put the Salin Plus?
As we often say, it’s as simple as plugging in a kettle! So having clean air throughout the house is a good result. However, a key area is your bedroom or your kid’s bedrooms, to aid sleep. The lounge (or a room with high use) is also a great place to have your Salin Plus. Remember, you can order more than one device and just plug them in where you feel you get most benefits
  • How often do I change my filter?
Always good to have a spare filter on hand….you can order one here, they’re not expensive. Your filter will last for 4 months effectively and then depletes at 6 months. So the simple answer is no longer than every 4 months.
  • How long does it take to notice an improvement?
It should be fairly immediate, perhaps within a week. Once the natural rock salt crystals enter the air, they should help breathing and you should notice a positive difference.
  • Optimising my use of my Salin Plus
To gain the most benefits, have more than one Salin Plus in active rooms, where you spend most time and of course, particularly in the bedrooms for 7-8 hours or your home study. But do avoid placing it near open windows, or open plan areas and of course, point it in a direction of activity, so you’ll get the best effect. Best to avoid kitchens and if you’ve kids, then always consider their places in the house, such as a playroom. But the optimal effect will be in places where you can easily breathe the salt.
